‘Cheerfulness’ is one of the very few really sweetly scented Daffodil you can buy, with lovely creamy white double flowers, too. ‘Cheerfulness’ is an heirloom variety, grown since 1923. It has creamy white petals with white centers flecked with yellow. These double flowers have a sweet, musky fragrance. The double flowers more closely resemble a gardenia than a daff and occur in clusters atop strong stems. The wonderfully spicy fragrance multiplies easily. Deer resistant. Plant in groups where they can be left undisturbed for a beautiful display year after year. Flowering March to April.
Daffodils are ideal for naturalizing (they bloom every spring) and may be planted anywhere in your landscape, in sun or shade, along borders, in groups along a fence or around a tree or mailbox. Daffodils look best in mass plantings. They make good container plants and are delightful cut flowers.
