Gladiolus ‘Rhapsody In Blue’, Premium Two/Tone

‘Rhapsody In Blue’ is a stunning, fancy gladioli!  This premium, two tone variety is an eye-catching raspberry pink with a white center.  Its bold color makes for a gorgeous addition to bouquets!  It is also one of the best flowers for arrangements, lasting up to two weeks in a vase.  Gladiolus sword-like foliage and long stems allow you to grow many in a small space.  They make striking accents in a mixed flower border or may be used as key elements in a shrub border or amongst perennials.

For a beautiful garden display, plant your ‘Rhapsody in Blue’ gladiolus in groups of six or more or grow dozens of them in a bed reserved for cutting. Plant them every two weeks from the last frost to extend this colorful display.

Planting/Care Instructions +

Planting Instructions: Plant in the spring, after the ground, warms to about 50º F. Two weeks before the last frost of the spring, plant in a sunny location in well-drained or sandy loam soil. Gladiolus will grow in any good garden soil but do need full sun and good drainage. Space plants 5” apart. 1. Dig a hole 4-6" deep. 2. Place corm in a hole pointed side up. 3. Cover with soil and water thoroughly. For continuous summer color, plant at biweekly intervals. Stake for best appearance and straightest stems. Remove faded/dead flowers to ensure continuous blooms. Increase water and fertilizer when flowers begin to develop. In zones 7 or lower, lift corms from the ground after the first frost. Allow the corms 1-2 days to dry and gently brush off excess soil. Store them in a cool, dry place during the winter months. Moisture: Water as needed to keep the soil moist. Mulching around your gladioli can assist with keeping the soil moist and preventing weeds.
