Sparaxis, Mix

Sparaxis Mix is also called Harlequin Flower. It gained its name from its colorful flowers which are tri-colored with a golden center and a small ring of brown surrounded by another color. Sword-like green stems support this very colorful flower. This mix will produce a cascade of star-shaped flowers. Plant them in large groups for an eye-catching display in your garden or border. When in bloom, cut sparaxis flowers for bouquets. The colors and individuality of patterns are wonderful.

You may plant earlier or later as long as the ground is not too warm or frozen. 1. Dig little holes and plant the bulbs (corms) 2" deep. Just poke them down in the soil, with the pointy end up and roots down. 2. Set the bulbs (corms) firmly in place. 3. Cover the corms with soil. After planting, water well to settle the soil around the bulbs. These bulbs need just two inches of soil over them and can often be planted by just poking them in with your finger. Plant corms 2" deep and 4" apart in well-drained soil with plenty of humus. Plant sparaxis where they will receive full sun. If you live in colder regions, dig up the corms and store them before the first frost.
