Planting/Care Instructions +

Planting Instructions: Plant in spring, after the ground, warms to about 50º F. Dig a hole 2-4" deep. Place rhizome in the hole. Cover with soil and water thoroughly. Cannas thrive in sunlight, heat, and humidity but be sure to provide plenty of water during the growing season. When a stalk has finished blooming, remove it and a new one will take its place. If faded flowers are not removed, seeds will form, and flowering will cease. In areas where the ground freezes, dig up rhizomes once foliage dies back in the fall. Allow bulbs to dry for a day or two before storing them in a cool, dark well-ventilated place for the winter.
