Strawberry ‘Quinault’ is a delicious everbearing strawberry that typically produces from early summer until frost. These tasty berries make an excellent ground cover, border, and container plants. Strawberry ‘Quinault’ is a dormant plant selected by DeGroot, offering you the opportunity to get a head start to the season! Due to its dormant state, this plant may lack foliage until it is
planted. There is no need to wait until after frost; this may be planted as soon as the ground is workable. Once planted, apply 6 inches of mulch for root protection. This early planting prevents transplant shock and allows more time to develop its root system. If your plant does have foliage, protect it from frost. Depending on the climate and weather experienced after planting, this plant could take up to 4-6 weeks to break dormancy and show signs of growth.

Planting Instructions: Soak plants in water a few minutes before planting. May be planted in any well-drained soil. Dig a hole large enough to encompass the roots without bending or circling. Set the plant in place so the crown (part of the plant where the root meets the stem) is level with the soil surface and water thoroughly. Apply fertilizer after growth begins. Grow in average, medium wet, well-drained soil in full sun. Prefers organically rich, sandy loams. Two weeks before planting, work in compost or peat and add a balanced slow release fertilizer into the top 6 inches of soil. For potted strawberry plants, use a combination of compost and granular fertilizer. (Follow fertilizer instructions on the manufacturer's packaging.)
