Sweet Shrub is the perfect addition to your backyard sanctuary! This trouble-free shrub provides food, shelter, and nesting, drawing nature’s creatures to your landscape. The showy deep maroon blossoms of this shrub last for 3-4 weeks. Their spicy strawberry,
banana-pineapple fragrance peaks in late afternoon and early evening when the flowers fully open. In autumn, the leaves turn a lovely golden yellow. Sweet Shrub is exceptionally easy to grow and may be planted in light shade to full sun, although full sun will allow for more blossoms. If planted in a hotter climate, be sure to plant where it will receive a bit of shade during the hottest part of the day.

Planting Instructions: Plant in the spring, when the soil is workable. May be planted in any well-drained soil.1. Dig a hole large enough to encompass the roots without bending or circling.2. Set the plant in place so the crown (part of the plant where the root meets the stem) is about 1-2" below the soil surface.3. Cover with soil to original soil surface. Water thoroughly. Best adapted to light shade but will flower in the sun. Fertilize using a slow-release, granular fertilizer (10-10-10) when planting. Prune immediately after flowering to shape.
