Hardy Oriental Lily, ‘Stargazer’

A favorite Oriental lily for decades, ‘Stargazer’ is exotic-looking with deep pink flowers edged in white and elegantly recurved petals. Butterflies and hummingbirds LOVE them! Stargazers make a beautiful background for your flower borders and are unsurpassed for cutting. They are fragrant with huge (5-6″) flowers and typically produce multiple flowers per stem. The flowers bloom on tall stems above green, lance-like leaves. They’re very hardy, need no staking, and are not particularly fussy about soil as long as it drains well. Oriental lilies have become increasingly popular due to their large, unique (often frilly) blooms and heavy, sweet fragrance.

Planting Instructions: Plant in spring, after the ground, warms to about 50º F. 1. Dig a hole 6" deep. 2. Place bulb in the hole pointed side up. 3. Cover with soil and water thoroughly. Plant in late spring 6" deep in any well-drained soil in sun or partial shade. Supply moisture and ample organic material through the growing season and mulch to keep roots cool & moist. As soon as the bloom has faded, remove it so seeds do not form. Allow stems to die back naturally in the fall. Divide every 3-4 years.
