Set the plant in place so the crown (part of the plant where the root meets the stem) is level with the soil surface. To help with pollination, plant one everbearing strawberry plant for every five pineberry plants. 3. Cover with soil to original soil surface. Water thoroughly. Apply fertilizer after growth begins.
